Chelsea Football Club has today completed the signing of striker Olivier Giroud from Arsenal. Giroud arrives with a wealth of experience and a proven pedigree at the highest level having scored goals regularly in the Premier League, in Europe and on the international stage, where he has represented France at three major tournaments. A strong, physical forward, Giroud is lethal in the air and clinical with his feet in and around the penalty area. The 31-year-old will wear the number 18 shirt and has signed an 18-month-contract. Popular Nigerian singer Olamide has responded to overwhelming criticisms that his latest song, “Science Student” is a bad influence on Nigerian youths considering the existing level of drug abuse in the country. Former international football star George Weah was sworn in as Liberia’s new president on Monday, in the country’s first transition between democratically-elected leaders since 1944. Weah, 51, took over from Nobel laureate Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who spent 12 years at the helm, steering the West African nation away from the trauma of a civil war. A young woman Celine Dookhran, 20, was raped and murdered by her “obsessed” uncle before her body was padlocked in a deep freezer, a court heard. Dookhran was kidnapped along with a second woman by her Uncle, Mujahid Arshid, 33, and his employee Vincent Tappu, 28, who took them to a six-bedroom house that Arshid, a builder, had been working at, the Old Bailey heard." Both women were then raped and their throats cut in what prosecutors described as a “horrific crime” on July 19 last year.
